I was shocked to see how many homeless people are living on Queen St. My first thought was, does the Government even care? Surprisingly the homeless have developed an astonishing social network. They share food, clothes, blankets and space. I think they are more social than some of us. The Government should do something about [the homeless].

In Auckland, I don't see many cars stopped in the traffic. The traffic here is much better than in my hometown, Sao Paulo. There you can waste between three and five hours getting home after work in rush hour.

When I arrived in New Zealand, I applied for Wi-Fi from one of NZ's phone companies. I was told I could activate my account one week later on its website. But when I got on to the website, it showed the password was incorrect. I phoned to find out what was happening and was put on hold for more than half an hour.

I want to thank NZ bouncers, working in public places at night, and also shop assistants for respecting the law. They won't sell you alcohol, cigarettes or let you into the bar if you're under 18. I think it helps reduce the number of teenagers with bad habits.

On Thursday we took a visitor for a ride up Mt Eden. We were shocked and embarrassed by the long grass and unkempt areas. It is time for the council to make the lovely mountain tidy again. As a top Auckland tourist spot it is a disgrace.

On Wednesday my car broke down on the St Johns roundabout about 9am. While I was standing beside it waiting for my son , numerous drivers wound down their windows and asked if I needed help. Thank you to every one of you, and to the two young police officers who also came to my assistance.
