A police officer who failed to stop after hitting another vehicle has apologised to the other driver and done further driving training.
The crash, which occurred on Porirua's Mungavin Ave in July, was investigated by police.
No one was injured in the incident.
Police said today its employment investigation relating to the July 11 crash had been completed.
The officer involved was responding to an urgent family violence incident when it occurred.
"Due to the serious and violent nature of the incident the officer was attending, they continued responding and did not stop to exchange details with the driver.
"The officer has undertaken further urgent duty driving training and met with the driver to personally apologise," a spokesperson said.
Repairs to the hit vehicle, which suffered relatively minor damage, were paid for by police.
