A pilot was taken to hospital after being injured while landing a light plane in southern Hawke's Bay today.
The 26-year-old man sustained minor injuries after plane he was flying came to an abrupt stop in soft sand on Porangahau Beach about 12.30pm, Lowe Coporation Rescue Helicopter spokeswoman Louise Harvey said.
He was the only person in the plane. He had been flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital for assessment, she said.
