A chemical spill has partially closed a busy Hamilton throughfare.
Police are advising motorists to avoid Te Rapa Rd as emergency services work to clear 600L of hydrogen peroxide off the road.
The clean up operation has been going since the spill at 10am this morning and is expected to take two more hours.
South bound traffic will be dropped down to one lane until it is complete.
Motorists are advised to use Hamilton's River Rd or Avalon Dr to avoid long delays.
