Britain's Johanna Konta has denied Venus Williams her 50th career triumph in the Stanford final in the US, breaking through for her first WTA singles title.
Konta's 7-5 5-7 6-2 win disappointed the Californian crowd who were cheering for the local hero.
The 25-year-old also stunned Williams with a straight-sets victory in the first round at this year's Australian Open.
