A 28-year-old woman will appear in court after a hit-and-run incident in Meadowbank yesterday.
A male cyclist, aged 18, suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car on Dorchester St just after 4pm.
A police spokesperson confirmed today that the driver who struck the cyclist failed to stop at the scene but has since been spoken to by police.
"Police have subsequently identified the driver, who has been spoken to and summonsed to appear in court."
Charges have not yet been laid and the matter is still under investigation.
The cyclist was transported to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition.
A man at the scene said one witness told him the cyclist was hit by a woman in a white Range Rover who fled the scene without stopping to check on the victim.
