A South Australian woman has escaped injury after she was swept out to sea trying to save her dog from the swell.
The woman, 54, went into the water and was swept out about 100m offshore of Basham Beach near Port Elliot, on the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula,and couldn't swim back in.
Luckily, surfers paddled out to help her.

The woman, from Hayborough, was taken to South Coast District Hospital as a precaution.
"Thankfully there was a positive outcome with the swimmer being assisted back to shore safely," he said.

"No one plans to get into trouble, but the ocean can be a dangerous place, especially in remote or isolated locations with unpredictable swells and hidden rips.
"Making yourself aware of the dangers and having a plan should you get into trouble, could save a life."
