Woman run over by excavator in shocking hit-and-run

Footage has emerged of the moment a woman was run over by an excavator on a Brisbane road, in an alleged hit-and-run.

CCTV footage shows the 27-year-old walking across the road before getting hit by the big machine.

The incident reportedly happened last Thursday on Hamilton Place, in Brisbane, Australia.

The woman is said to be in critical condition.

According to the Daily Mail Australia, police have questioned the excavator driver, a 58-year-old man, and he has been released without charge although remains a person of interest.

Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward as the investigation continues.
