Woman escapes Russian roulette ordeal

A Sydney man subjected his de facto partner to a terrifying Russian roulette-style ordeal after an argument at their western suburbs home, police say.

The 43-year-old man pulled out a revolver in the garage of the couple's home, loaded a single bullet then three times spun the chamber and fired the gun while aiming at his wife, police say.

The bullet did not fire. The woman fled, locked herself in the house and called police.

The man has been charged with attempted murder and multiple firearms offences.
