"That's why it's really important, particularly with Christmas around the corner, that people check they have a correct address and include a return address,"
Gordon said Australia Post was expecting a frantic holiday season, with a record number of Australians turning to online shopping this Christmas.
"We're predicting to deliver an extra 3 million parcels in December this year, compared to a normal month," she said.
"The majority of these parcels are from Australians shopping online, with 70 per cent of the parcels we deliver generated from eCommerce."
Proceeds from the auction on December 12 will go to the RSPCA.
