UK: Snow strands hundreds

Hundreds of drivers in Britain were stranded and about 100 Scottish children forced to sleep at school after snow and ice brought more havoc.

Scotland bore the brunt of the latest blast with scores of cars across the central belt stuck in up to 30cm of snow in temperatures of minus 15C.

Northeast Scotland and northwest England can expect more snow today.
