A woman has had to undergo amputation after her jealous husband allegedly sawed her feet with a machete.
An Australian man has raised almost $50,000 for his Balinese housekeeper after her feet were allegedly sawn off with a machete by her husband.
Former UFC fighter Rohan Lee,who relocated from Perth to Bali's Canggu after his retirement, started a GoFundMe campaign for his friend and employee Putu Careen following the Tuesday attack.
In the campaign description, Mr Lee describes the alleged incident as a "horrific domestic violence attack" which resulted in Ms Careen "having both her feet sawn off with a machete" in front of her two young children, said news.com.au.
"Not only is this one of the most vile and vindictive acts of violence I've ever witnessed, the worst part is that in Indonesia there is limited welfare or government assistance for medical treatment of this kind," he said.
"This incident has left Putu without the ability to work to support her two children, pay for immediate medical treatment, prosthetic legs, or obtain any kind of rehabilitation."
Mr Lee is seeking to raise $100,000 for the injured woman, and had already reached over $50,000 in donations since starting the fund on Thursday.
The alleged victim is described as "one of the most genuinely kind and caring people you could ever meet".
"Ever since I moved to Canggu two years ago, Putu has helped me with everything, from finding accommodation to helping me with the local markets and everything in between," Mr Lee wrote.
"I struggle to see how anybody could do such a thing to such a loving and caring human being."
Graphic photos posted to the online fundraising page show the bloody aftermath of the incident, which local police say was motivated by jealousy.
Ms Careen's husband, identified as Kadek Adi Waisaka Putra, allegedly attacked his wife on Tuesday after accusing her of an affair, the Tribun Bali reported.
Police said the husband had been threatening his wife with a machete trying to coax a confession from her.
Police said after hacking off his wife's feet with weapon, he drove her to a nearby clinic.
The man reportedly told investigators he regretted his actions.

According to Tribun Bali, Ms Careen's left leg had to be amputated after the incident.
Mr Lee said he visited Ms Careen in hospital and reported she was "still remaining positive".
"It was so remarkable to see for someone in her situation and was such a testament to the amazing woman and mother she is," he said.
Mr Lee said money raised would be used directly to pay for Ms Careen's medical expenses and accommodation, and remaining donations would be used to set up a "strictly managed account" for the mother and her two children.
