US President Donald Trump has been accused of creating propaganda that masquerades as news by publishing his new "real news" channel, which airs on his Facebook page.

It appears to be part of his war on what he calls the "Fake News Media" - fed up of the news on mainstream channels, he's decided to make his own.

His first presenter was his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, who sang the praises of the President in front of a backdrop emblazoned with his name.

The following week, CNN commentator Kayleigh McEnany announced she was taking a mysterious new role, and quitting her job.

Then, she was seen fronting his 'news of the week' show, and said the 'real news' was that Donald Trump was doing well.

"President Trump has clearly steered the economy back in the right direction," she said - omitting that the President had failed to achieve any notable legislative reforms.

She then spoke of a new piece of proposed legislation which aims to cut low-skilled immigration to the US.

It would replace the employment-based system with a merit-based system like that of Australia.

While I have enjoyed my time at CNN, I will be moving to a new role. Stay tuned next week!

United States called the Reforming American Immigration for Strong Employment (RAISE) Act.

"Americans deserve a raise, and President Trump is finally putting the American worker first," she gushed.

She ended the segment by saying: "Thank you for joining us, everybody. I'm Kayleigh McEnany, and that's the real news".

This is the type of propaganda you'd see in North Korea. It erodes the people's ability to discern truth and hold government accountable. https://t.co/LZlHhoEHgL

Many have said the "news channel" is eerie and dystopian, as well as being reminiscent of state-run propaganda.

CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski tweeted "You get the same vibe from this broadcast as those paid-programming news-style programs that air at 3am".

Her other former colleague Brian Stelter said she "seems to have joined the Trump reelection campaign."

One social media commentator wrote: "She's reporting from Trump Tower, his name is advertised behind her & she states it's "real news." This is 100% propaganda of his making."

Another said: "This is a disturbing frightening future. White House press briefings being delivered from Trump Tower in New York?"
