Thais retreat from disputed border

Thai troops yesterday retreated from a disputed border zone after Cambodia's Prime Minister issued an ultimatum to withdraw or face consequences.

The Cambodian Army said all Thai troops were back inside their camp about 1km from the contested territory.

Premier Hun Sen had accused Thai troops of having crossed into Cambodian territory near the 11th century Preah Vihear temple, a source of enmity between the two countries for decades.
