A man who allegedly beat children with a paddle and forced them to do sexual acts with each other has been bashed in jail, appearing in court with a black eye.
The Texas man, Michael George Corey, Jr, has been in jail for three-and-a-half years after being charged with 45 counts of sex crimes against a boy and two girls, aged 8, 10 and 11.
He was arrested in 2018 and remains before the courts, according to Wichita Falls station KFDX.
His matter was featured on the local news in America and Corey was reportedly beaten by fellow inmates after they saw the details of the alleged horrific acts.
Wichita County Sheriff David Duke said there was video of the assault and in that time Corey was struck by three inmates more than 15 times.
Detention officers took the three men away from Corey less than a minute after the attack started.
Court officials saw Corey the next day and noted he had a bruise and a black eye.
Corey's 45 charges include 15 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, 12 counts of employing, inducing, or authorising a child to engage in sexual performance, 10 counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, five counts of indecency with a child by exposure and three counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14.
He was arrested after staff at the eight-year-old's school told police the child had injuries.
Officers discovered the alleged abuse of the other children when they investigated Corey and his partner Tammy Lynn Vaughn's mobile home.
USA Today reported police found a wooden paddle with the words "Act Right" written on it in black lettering.
The 10-year-old girl told authorities Corey would force her to bend over and touch some bricks outside in the front yard of a residence.
If she moved or fell to the ground, she had until the count of three to get back up or Corey would allegedly start over the number of times he was going to hit her.
She added that sometimes he didn't give her a chance and would just keep hitting whatever part of her body he could reach while she was on the ground.
Before his 2018 charges, Corey was already on probation.
Both cases involve the same children.
In the first case, he allegedly forced the kids to bend over and take up to 90 hits from a paddle with zip ties tied around it while his foster parents watched.
Charges against him and his partner were later dropped.
His court case continues and there will be an investigation into the jail assault.
