A cup of tea allegedly laced with insecticide has landed a man in court accused of trying to fatally poison a woman known to him.
Police arrested the 61-year-old man on Tuesday and seized a bottle of an insecticide from the home in St Andrews in Sydney’s southwest.
It is alleged the pesticide was put in a cup of tea the man prepared for the 66-year-old woman in September.
The man has been charged with causing poison to be taken with intention to murder (DV), using poison to endanger life (DV) and using poison to inflict grievous bodily harm (DV).
