Former International Monetary Fund head Dominique Strauss-Kahn was being questioned by French police late last night as a suspect in a prostitution ring inquiry.
Strauss-Kahn, once a front-runner for the French presidency, was being held in custody at a police station in Lille, the BBC Online reported.
Police had questioneda number of prostitutes who admitted having sex with him, the broadcaster said. He insisted he did not know they were sex workers.
