The Solomon Islands have been rattled by a large earthquake.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said the M6.7 earthquake struck just after 6.30am local time (7.30am NZ time) at a depth of 54km.
There was no tsunami threat.
The US Geological Survey said the earthquake was centred 66km northwest of
Kirakira in the Solomon Islands.
