Singapore's siamese twins healing

Although one of the Siamese twin girls separated in Singapore was still battling infection at the weekend, her wounds are healing and her sister is drinking from a bottle.

The 11-month-old Ganga Shrestha was "better than yesterday," said neurosurgeon Keith Goh, director of the medical team that separated Ganga's skull and brain from her sister Jamuna's.

Jamuna was "responding very well" to treatment, said a Singapore General Hospital spokeswoman.

The two girls from Nepal were born joined at the head, their brains connected by a web of blood vessels.

Doctors separated them in a gruelling 96-hour operation that ended on April 10.
