The force said it had increased “dedicated patrols” in the area amid “deep concern” from the local community.
A blue tent was erected on Monday and the area was taped off so forensics could investigate the incident.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Laburnum Road at 8.41pm on Monday after the stabbing.
A spokesman said: “Crews arrived to discover a man who had suffered serious injuries in the incident and was in a critical condition.”
“They immediately began administering advanced life support, but sadly, despite their best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
Residents said the death of Seesahai has made them fear for their children’s safety, with one woman telling the BBC: “I’m worried about my kids now - it’s not safe. I don’t feel safe.”
“I’m really worried. 19 years old is no age. It’s made me more protective over my kids and the neighbourhood.”
