Secrecy battle continues

Swiss police have re-arrested a former banker on fresh charges of breaching bank secrecy laws by passing data to WikiLeaks.

"The state prosecutor's office is checking to see whether Rudolf Elmer has violated Swiss banking law."

Earlier Elmer, 55, was found guilty by a Swiss court of breaching bank secrecy laws and handed a suspended fine of 7200 Swiss francs after he admitted passing private client data to tax authorities after becoming "disappointed in the industry's ethics". Elmer was fired from his job at Julius Baer in 2002.
