Sarah Palin resigned due to marital troubles, says Levi Johnston

Levi Johnston, former fiancé of Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol is claiming that the former Governor of Alaska and her husband Todd are having marital problems.

In an exclusive video interview with RadarOnline.com Johnston attributed marriage troubles as being a key reason why Palin stepped down from her role as governor last month.

Although Johnston would not comment on whether or not he thought a third party was the cause of the problems, when asked if they were having marital problems he answered that "they had been from day one."

Johnston was also quoted as saying that Palin "couldn't handle the heat" in her job as Governor.

This is not the first time Johnston has publicly criticised the Palin family since Johnston and Palin ended their engagement a few months after the 2008 Presidential election and the birth of their son, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.
