The US Republican National Committee has fired a staffer who helped organise a US$1946 ($2724) visit last month to a sex-themed Hollywood club, and the party says it will recoup the money from a donor who also participated.
A committee memo says the January 31 outing to Voyeur WestHollywood involved several members of the "Young Eagles" Republican group who had been in Los Angeles for a meeting. An unnamed staffer, who had been warned that such activities did not qualify for reimbursement, had been fired, said the memo from committee chief of staff Ken McKay.
