Record compensation for Concorde victims

Relatives of victims of the Concorde crash will receive compensation that is a record for Europe, say lawyers.

Ninety-six German tourists on board the airliner died, along with 13 crew members and four people on the ground, when it crashed on July 25 last year near Paris. Settlements for the crew and those on the ground are being worked on separately.

The around 700 German claimants are believed to be getting a total of more than $US100 million ($244 million).
