A man has been charged with the shooting deaths of multiple horses at a Queensland property. photo / Supplied
A man has been charged over the shooting deaths of 41 horses at a rural Queensland property.
The 49-year-old Mount Isa man was arrested on Thursday as part of an investigation into the suspicious deaths of the horses, who were found shot dead on a large property on Cramsie MuttaburraRd in Longreach last week.

The man was refused police bail and will face Mount Isa Magistrates Court charged with one count of injuring animals.

Detectives from the Longreach major and organised crime squad (MOCS) combed the 2023ha property for any additional wounded or dead animals as part of their investigation.
MOCS Rural Longreach OIC Detective Sergeant Allan Cook said incidents of this nature could have a devastating impact on rural communities.
Investigations remain ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
