Prisoner posts to Facebook, escapes jail

An inmate posted a selfie on Facebook wearing only his undies just two days before he escaped an Australian prison.

Beau Wiles, 25, escaped yesterday while working outside the minimum security section of the Goulburn Correctional Complex.

Wiles posted his half naked selfie along with a message to his girlfriend "love you my my (sic) princess".

His girlfriend believed to be Beck Wats, responded to the post "Love u too my prince can't wait to have my hand all ova that sexy body of urz.

That's my man looking fresh as always,,,baby I cant wait to marry you!!! As soon as ur out im gunna make u my husband, xxxx," she also wrote.

The government are unable to say where Wiles is or how he was able to access a mobile phone inside jail, the Daily Telegraph reported.

His family has urged him to surrender. His aunt Linda Jenson said, "It's a real shame. He gets himself in trouble, he is not dangerous, he just gets himself in strife," she told the Daily Telegraph.

Wiles is serving an aggregate 18-month sentence for a series of offences, including shoplifting, driving while disqualified and using a mobile/SIM card inside a correctional facility, the Daily Telegraph reported.

His 12-month non-parole period was due to expire in July 2016.
