Four policemen have been praised over their rescue of a baby in danger of falling from a third-floor balcony in Sydney's west.
A passer-by reported that the 22-month-old baby appeared to be "hanging" from a apartment balcony in Susan Street, Auburn, yesterday afternoon.
Four officers immediately ran to the unit
from a nearby police station - two forced their way into the property and the other two stayed outside.
The officers found the baby standing on a lounge chair with one leg on a railing.
A male constable grabbed the youngster.
The child's mother was at home at the time but was unaware of what had happened, police said.
"It is anticipated the four officers will be commended for their actions," a police statement said.
