Northern Irish pair charged after bomb found

A married couple appeared in a Northern Irish court yesterday charged with possessing explosives after police discovered a 60kg bomb during a raid.

The fully primed device was discovered this week at a house near Omagh, scene of the deadliest attack in Northern Ireland's conflict in August 1998.

Stephen Daly, 28, and Helen Daly, 25, both denied a charge of possessing explosives with intent to endanger life. Four others were arrested following the discovery of the bomb.
