Former test opener Mudassar Nazar was appointed coach of the Pakistan cricket team yesterday after Englishman Richard Pybus quit over security fears.
The Pakistan Cricket Board said Nazar, who played 76 tests and 122 one-dayers from 1977 to 1989, had been appointed until the tour of Bangladesh in January.
Pybus, who is based in South Africa, refused this week to join the team's training camp, citing security fears in the wake of the United States-led air strikes on neighbouring Afghanistan.
