A mass shooting at a public library in New Mexico has killed at least two, the Mirror reports.

At least six people have been injured at Clovis-Carver Public Library, according to city officials.

The suspect is believed to be in custody according to NBC.

Armed police surrounded the library, in Clovis, New Mexico at 4pm Monday (local time).


A large number of emergency services were also at the shooting.

Witness, Vanessa Aguirre, told the Eastern New Mexico News that a man ran into the library and started shooting into the air.

"It all happened so fast," she said.

"We took off fast. My purse is still in there."
