New South Wales shootings: Police find body in hunt for suspected triple killer Julian Ingram

A man’s body believed to be triple killer Julian Ingram has been found about an hour from where he shot dead three people.

The body was found next to the ute Ingram fled in from Lake Cargelligo about four months ago.

Police are on their way to the scene in Mount Hope, about an hour from the small town.

A manhunt for Ingram, 37, was launched after three people were fatally shot in Lake Cargelligo in January.

Emergency services had been called to Bokhara St about 4.30pm on Thursday, January 22 after reports of a shooting.

Two people, Sophie Quinn, 25, and her friend John Harris, 32, were found with gunshot wounds inside a car.

Both died at the scene.

A short time later, reports emerged of shots being fired on Walker St, where police found the body of Quinn’s aunt Nerida Quinn, 50 and an injured man, 19, in a driveway.

The woman died at the scene and the teenager was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Shooter known to police

NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Andy Holland said the fatal shooting was likely domestic violence-related.

He told media Ingram was known to police for domestic violence-related matters.

He had been expected to front court for an apprehended violence order (AVO) hearing on February 3.

Small town plunged into lockdown

After the fatal shootings, police launched a massive manhunt, plunging the small town into lockdown.

More than 100 officers were involved with residents and businesses ordered to stay indoors and shut their doors.
