Epstein asks Musk if he had plans for New York, telling him, “the opening of the general assembly has many interesting people coming to the house”.
Musk responds: “Flying to NY to see UN diplomats do nothing would be an unwise use of time.”
Epstein responds: “Do you think I am retarded? Just kidding, there is no one over 25 and all very cute.”
Responding to the revelations on X, Musk said: “If I actually wanted to spend my time partying with young women, it would be trivial for me to do so without the help of a creepy loser like Epstein and I would still have 99 per cent of my mind available to think about other things. But I don’t.”
After a user suggested he was “too autistic” to understand Epstein’s real meaning, Musk wrote: “Admittedly, I was at first dumb enough to think he actually meant hanging out with UN diplomats.
“However, even after he clarified that he meant a party with young women ‘under age 25’, I still chose working on rockets and cars.”
He admitted the exchange about the “diplomats” was real but claimed other files released by the US justice department were “misinterpreted” or even “fake”.
Musk said: “No one pushed harder than me to have the Epstein files released and I’m glad that has finally happened.
“I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to go to his island or fly on his ‘Lolita Express’, but was well aware that some email correspondence with him could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear my name.”
Musk has long called for the files to be released and used the inclusion of other people’s names within them – including Donald Trump – as a means of attacking them.
But emails released on Friday show the billionaire repeatedly requesting invitations to Epstein’s infamous parties on his island, including one where he writes about attending with his ex-wife, Talulah Riley.
He asked Epstein on December 13, 2013: “Will be in the BVI/St Bart’s area over the holidays. Is there a good time to visit?”
On Christmas Day of that year, he asked whether Epstein had “any parties planned”.
When Epstein tells him, “the ratio on my island might make Talulah uncomfortable”, Musk responds: “Ratio is not a problem for Talulah.”
Epstein was first convicted of sex crimes in 2006, when he was convicted of soliciting prostitution from someone under 18 and signed a plea deal.
He was later arrested in 2019 on federal sex-trafficking charges and was found dead in his prison cell the same year.
