An Australian man who reeled in a monster marlin weighing 363kg says he was "buggered" after landing the fish.
Perth man Byron Milne caught the huge marlin on a chartered fishing trip with friends off the northwest coast of Western Australia, WA Today reported.
Mr Milne, 25, said reeling in the fish was the most painful thing he'd ever done.
"I've never felt pain like that - cramps in my fingers, cramps in my hamstrings, my back was buggered," he told WA Today.
The fish was bigger than the largest caught on record in Western Australia, which weighed 296kg. However, Mr Milne's catch does not count towards the official record because his two friends helped to keep him upright after he had battled with the fish for two hours.
He was locked into a harness but after about two hours "my back gave way".
"I couldn't stand, I was going to go in, and I knew that as soon as someone helped me the record was smashed but I couldn't hack the pain," he told WA Today.
The cook reportedly removed the dead snake - but still served the food.
