Missing Brisbane woman found dead at Buccan property, man arrested in NSW

A man has been arrested in NSW just hours after the body of a missing Queensland woman was found at a property south of Brisbane.

Authorities discovered the body of the 46-year-old woman at a property in Buccan on Monday.

Police allege she had sustained “serious injuries”.

The woman was last seen at The Gap around 7pm on Saturday (local time).

She was reported missing from the suburb of Ashgrove, in Brisbane’s northwest, around 1am on Monday.

In a statement, Queensland Police confirmed officers conducted a welfare check at 2.30am at a property on Waterford Tamborine Rd at Buccan, where they found the woman deceased.

NSW Police arrested a man, 36, in Kempsey on the NSW Mid North Coast on Monday evening.

He is expected to face court in NSW tomorrow and detectives from Queensland “will be travelling to New South Wales to speak to the man in relation to the matter”, the Queensland Police statement continues.

Investigations remain ongoing, with police awaiting an autopsy to determine the cause of the woman’s death.
