Police in Australia today said they foiled a major terrorist attack following a 16-month operation.
At least 17 people were arrested in Melbourne and Sydney and one suspect was reported shot.
"Intelligence was received that a group was making arrangements to stockpile chemicals and other materials capable of making explosives,"
