Police in New York are searching for a driver who completed a lap of Manhattan in a record 24m 7s, before posting a video of the journey to the internet.
Going by the pseudonym AfroDuckProductions, the motorist achieved an average 106 km/h - breaking the 70km/h limit - while driving
the 42km loop in night-time traffic.
He did, however, take care to stop for six red lights along the way, according to the "dashcam" video, a sped-up version of which was posted to YouTube.
The performance, in a 2006 BMW Z4, broke the previous best for the loop of 26m 3s.
Gumball rally legend Alex Roy set an earlier record of around 27 minutes around Manhattan on September 10, 2001 - a test run for a serious record attempt, which he details in his book The Driver: My Dangerous Pursuit of Speed and Truth in the Outlaw Racing World. The following morning, of course, was the terror attack on the World Trade Center, after which he pulled the pin on further attempts.
