Man plunges 16 floors to his death from Pyrmont apartment balcony

A young man has died after falling 16 floors from the balcony of a high-rise apartment block in Pyrmont overnight.

Emergency services were called to Bayview Waters apartments on Saunders St at around 3.30am.

Police setup a crime scene in the building and investigations are continuing. Photo / NEWS LTD

Upon arrival, paramedics found the man with critical injuries.

Police are believed to be treating the fall as accidental.

A male friend looked distressed as he was questioned by police in the lobby of the apartments.

Sydney Local Area Command are investigating and are speaking with a number of witnesses in an effort to establish how the man came to fall.
