A 36-year-old man has been arrested at London's Heathrow Airport on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts.
Counter-terrorism detectives swooped as he arrived at the airport on Thursday, Scotland Yard said.
He is being held at a west London police station.
Enquiries by detectives were continuing.
