Libyan authorities given Gaddafi deadline

The Libyan authorities were given two weeks by the International Criminal Court yesterday to decide what to do with Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the imprisoned son of the former leader.

Saif al-Islam, once seen as a reformist possible successor to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, faces indictments before the ICC for complicity in crimes allegedly committed by his father in the dictator's attempts to put down the revolution last February. However, authorities in Tripoli say he should be tried in Libya rather than The Hague.
