Latham faces post-loss revolt

Australian Labor leader Mark Latham is facing a revolt from his front bench after this month's stunning election loss.


His shadow treasurer Simon Crean, finance spokesman Bob McMullan and Defence spokesman Kim Beazley have all decided to head for the back benches.


This is being seen as a vote of no confidence in the leader and there is speculation Kim Beazley could end up back at the helm.


A total of five opposition MPs have now quit the front bench in the wake of the election loss.


Mr Latham is now expected to make major changes to his team at Friday's caucus meeting.
