Tonga's electoral commission has announced the results from the country's snap general election.
Kaniva News reported the Democrats won a landslide 14 of the 17 electoral seats, enabling the party to form a government.
The snap election came after Tonga's King Tupou VI unexpectedly dismissed the Prime Minister, 'Akilisi Pōhiva, dissolved the Tongan Parliament and ordered a new election to be held by November 16.
Eighty-six candidates stood, including 15 women, for the 17 open seats.
All but two of the nine Noble Representatives have also been re-elected.
One of the nobles' seats was decided by coin toss after two candidates' votes were tied.
Prime Minister Pōhiva was also easily reelected despite facing 10 other candidates for the position, Kaniva News reported.
