JPMorgan sexual harassment lawsuit: Former banker claims ‘sex slave’ abuse

A former employee at the bank JPMorgan Chase has filed an explosive sexual harassment lawsuit against his female colleague, alleging she forced him to be a “sex slave” – a claim the bank and the woman say is completely fabricated.

The plaintiff, identified in documents as John Doe, asked the court to protect his anonymity.

However, the Daily Mail and later the New York Post have outed the man behind the lawsuit as Chirayu Rana.

According to the complaint, Rana has accused Lorna Hajdini of coercing him into non-consensual sex, drugging him, threatening to withhold his bonuses and insulting him, beginning in 2024, People reported.

The story blew up online as tabloids picked over the allegations against Hajdini, an executive director for the leveraged finance division at JPMorgan Chase.

The lawsuit first made headlines when it was filed on April 27 in the New York County Supreme Court, but after the tabloid stories began to be published, the lawsuit was pulled from public view for “correction” by Rana.

Then on May 4, the lawsuit was resubmitted with new information, with anonymous witness statements to support the complaint.

In his updated complaint, Rana said he had been seeing licensed psychotherapist Jonathan Alpert – a frequent guest on TV shows – since early 2025.

Rana claimed he had been diagnosed by Alpert with post-traumatic stress disorder linked to the alleged abuse, People reported.

According to the complaint, Rana is seeking payment for damages, including back pay and front pay, for past and future lost wages and benefits.

JPMorgan and Hajdini have strongly denied the claims.

An internal probe by the bank’s HR department and in-house lawyers said there was no evidence to support Rana’s argument, the Post reported.

“Following an investigation, we don’t believe there’s any merit to these claims,” the spokesperson told the Post.

“While numerous employees co-operated with the investigation, the complainant refused to participate and has declined to provide facts that would be central to support his allegations.”

JPMorgan said Hajdini co-operated fully with the probe, while Rana did not.

The Post reported that Rana had apparently lied to the bank about his father’s death to claim paid bereavement leave.

It alleged he used that time to prepare the lawsuit against Hajdini and JPMorgan. Despite sources saying he had taken bereavement leave, the Post managed to locate Rana’s father alive last week.

The outlet also reported the pair had different managing directors, meaning Hajdini could not influence his annual compensation.

In a statement to People, Hajdini’s lawyers said she “categorically denies the allegations”.

“She never dated this individual, never had a sexual or romantic encounter with him of any kind and never gave him any drugs. She maintains that his false claims are entirely fabricated and tarnishing her reputation.”
