Actor Angelina Jolie has bought one of Los Angeles' most historic homes. She reportedly offered US$25 million ($35.6 million) to buy director Cecil B. DeMille's 8500sq m estate in Los Feliz, where he lived until his death in 1959.
According to the estate's listing on Hilton & Hyland's website, thesix-bedroom, 10-bathroom home has its own street name - its address is listed as 2000 DeMille Drive.

The 1021sq m Beaux Arts-style mansion was built in 1913, and Jolie and her family will be getting not just the main house, but a "multi-structure compound" with a pool house and studio with a separate entrance.
American reports hinted that she had decided to return to Los Angeles so her six children maintain a relationship with their estranged father, Brad Pitt.
"We are focusing on the health of our family," she said on Good Morning America. "And so we will be stronger when we come out of this because that's what we're determined to do."
Jolie and Pitt have begun disposing of their other homes, including their French chateau and New Orleans mansion.
Other residents in Jolie's new neighbourhood include Casey Affleck, Natalie Portman and musician will.i.am.
