Israel retaliates for Gaza rocket attack

Israel has carried out air strikes on Gaza Strip targets, according to reports.

The air strikes were in retaliation to a rocket fired on Friday from the Palestinian territory that hit the city of Ashkelon.

Palestinian witness said there were several explosions in Gaza City and that Israeli aircraft could be heard flying overhead, according to Reuters.

There have so far been no reports of injuries.
