Huffington Post launches 'Twitter edition'

The Huffington Post current affairs website is launching a "Twitter edition" that is intended to serve as an add-on to its main news and opinion site, it was reported today.

The primary purpose is to harness the social networking aspects of the site to create a real-time news service.

"More and more people are using Twitter to get their news and to share the news that touches them", wrote site founder Arianna Huffington, as she introduced HuffPost Twitter.
