Zachery Ty Bryan, who starred in the 90s sitcom Home Improvement, has been arrested for allegedly violating probation from a prior domestic violence conviction.

The 44-year-old was taken into custody, along with his fiancee, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, in Oregon, United States, over the weekend, People reported.

Bryan is serving a three-year probation from 2023 for the offence, according to TMZ.

He is currently being held in a county jail without bail, while Cartwright was booked at the same jail, according to People.

Cartwright is facing five charges; driving under the influence, attempted first-degree assault and three counts of reckless endangerment, the outlet reported.

Bryan, who played Brad on the television show, has had multiple run-ins with the law over the past five years.

In January, he was charged with second-degree domestic violence after being arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

TMZ reported that Bryan allegedly punched a woman multiple times and threatened to kill her during the January 1 incident, citing a police report which also states that the woman shares a child with Bryan.

Bryan was previously arrested in 2020 after Cartwright alleged that he squeezed her throat with his hands during a heated argument in an apartment.

He was arrested again in 2023 and charged with domestic assault.

Bryan also faced drink-driving charges twice last year in both California and Oklahoma.

The former child actor rose to fame on the series as the oldest son of Tim Allen’s Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor character.

During Bryan’s struggles in 2023, Allen told The Hollywood Reporter that he was struggling to understand what was going on.

“At a certain point, he deviated from the guy I know to somebody who is reacting to situations that I had nothing to do with and can’t control,” he said.

“I don’t know what happens when people get corrupted. You just don’t know.

“Zach is a great kid who has grown into a complex man. All you can do is step aside and let somebody go through their process.”

After Home Improvement finished, Bryan made smaller appearances on other shows before retiring from acting in 2009.
