Help for spat on bus drivers

Bus drivers could be issued with DNA swab kits to help authorities catch passengers who spit on transport workers, the NSW Government says.

There were 369 incidences of offensive behaviour targeting bus drivers, as well as 45 verbal assaults and 345 reports of rocks being thrown at buses, between November 2006 and May this year. Twenty four drivers were spat on and 20 were threatened.
