Publisher Fairfax has announced new senior editorial appointments at the Sydney Morning Herald and Sun-Herald in the latest changes to flow from its newsroom review.
Editor-in-chief of the papers, Sean Aylmer, announced the new positions on Wednesday.
Richard Woolveridge will take on the role of Sydney Morning Herald Monday-Friday editorwith Heath Gilmore as his deputy.
Judith Whelan has been appointed the paper's Saturday editor and Kate Cox is appointed editor of the Sun-Herald.
"The team we are putting in place to take the Herald's new editorial structure forward is a superb group of some of Australia's most talented and experienced editors and journalists," Mr Aylmer said in a statement.
"They will all make an enormous contribution to the success of the Herald's delivery of the best quality news reporting, commentary and analysis demanded by our audiences."
