The video has since exploded, racking up 42 million views, 1.7 million likes and 19,000 comments in less than two days.
“Genius. Now I need to remember to use this hack next time it’s needed,” one said.
“Bro out here playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers,” a second wrote.
“Changed my life forever,” a third admitted.
However, plenty of other people said they’d “known about it for years”
“I’ve been doing this forever,” claimed a commenter, while another revealed: “I always do this”.
“Don’t tell people!” another begged.
Others condemned the act, with one viewer calling it “absolute plonker behaviour”.
“It’s called being a d*ck,” shared another, while someone else wrote: “Legal? Yes, but you have to go home knowing you are a complete gronk”.
It comes after another Aussie shared a drive-through hack just three weeks ago, detailing how to get late-night milk if you’ve run out.
While not an issue for many, the situation is a nightmare for parents with toddlers who rely on the drink to get to sleep, or for anyone with a midnight cold Milo craving.
Instead of waiting for the shops to open the next day or forking out an eye-watering amount at the local servo, it turns out McDonald’s has been providing a go-to option for milk runs, with a little-known detail recently shared by a Gold Coast family ahead of the game.
“Can’t believe this is actually a thing here,” a video shared by the family was captioned on Instagram when they ran out of milk late at night.
The couple, upon discovering their blunder, jumped into the car and headed to their local McDonald’s drive-through.
After approaching the speaker box and being asked what they wanted, they told the worker, “Can I just get a two-litre milk, please?”
The worker replied: “Yeah, full cream?”
After they approached the window, they were handed a full bottle of Norco-branded milk, costing A$3.50 ($4.10).
The hack is not only convenient but also cheaper, with the same bottle costing a customer A$4.80 at Woolworths.
The revelation has been so well-received that the post has garnered over seven million views, with minds completely blown throughout the comment section.
“Wow! I didn’t know about this. Pretty cool,” one commenter said.
“You’re telling me my entire life and I never knew this worked?” another questioned.
