President Trump has released an advert claiming achievements over his first 100 days
Donald Trump has been refuting reports about his campaign links with Russia for months.
On Monday, the president took it one step further by changing his Twitter banner to include one of his recent tweets.
"Director Clapper reiterated what everybody, including the fake media already knows- there is "no evidence"of collusion w/Russia and Trump," the president proclaims in the account's main picture, which shows the president surrounded by dozens of people in the Oval Office giving a thumbs up.
The tweet was in reference to testimony at a Senate Judiciary subcommittee by former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
Clapper said he stood by past assertions that he had not seen evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia but also declined to comment on classified matters.
The hearing focused on former national security adviser Michael Flynn's ties to Moscow and allegations that Russia meddled in the 2016 US election.
In another tweet, the president seemed to denounce the hearings. "The Russia-Trump collusion story is a total hoax, when will this taxpayer-funded charade end?" he asked.
Social media users were quick to mock the change to the Twitter picture, with many highlighting the fact it did not appear correctly on many devices.
Trump's pettiness is dwarfed by his social media team's inability to appropriately size a header for Twitter. Can't do anything right. pic.twitter.com/WxUjwUk0Nr
